Great Skin is Just a Kitchen Away

Filed under: skin care — admin @ 8:02 am

It is in our nature to overwhelm ourselves while trying to come up with a solution. This is true with skin care. We waste money trying out the newest miracle skin care product. We waste precious time going from one product to another, time that could be used to do simple things to improve our skin. Skin care doesn’t really have to be that expensive. All you need are ingredients you use every day anyway and desire to give the skin what it deserves: the best nature can offer.

Take milk, for example. It is packed with ingredients beneficial to the skin. It contains lactic acid, a kind of Alpha Hydroxy Acid - AHA, an excellent exfoliant and collagen production stimulant. The proteins that milk contain help smooth the skin out, while the enzymes aid its rejuvenation.

Why not indulge yourself with a long, soothing and above all, skin rejuvenating bath? Also known as Cleopatra’s Milk Bath, this bath leaves your skin soft and smooth. Prepare a bath and add up to 5 cups of buttermilk. If you are feeling especially creative, feel free to add a few drops of jojoba or aromatic lavender oil. Relax and let your skin soak in on all the powerful milky ingredients. Simply wash off after 30 minutes.

Feeling the effects of sun-tanning? Skin all tingly and red? The solution is as simple as applying some yogurt on your skin. It will help soothe the irritation and cool the skin down.

Remember that orange vegetable called carrot you add to your meals? That same little vegetable is filled with Retin A, the fancy sounding substance the big brands brag about. They certainly haven’t reinvented the wheel. It is enormous in its ability to rejuvenate the deeper layers of the skin, but has also been present in a form of carrot as a facial masks’ bases for ages.

Next time you are peeling carrots, boil 2-3 separately. When cooked, mash them and mix with 4 tablespoons of honey. Apply to your face, keep on for 10 minutes and wash off. Your skin will feel smooth and elastic.

These two are just a tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds of ingredients we use and never think of the magic behind them, the real magic nature can only provide. Walk to your kitchen, peek around and see what you can find. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try out some of these simple tips. See what happens. Remember, great skin is just a kitchen away!

How to Create Your Own Natural Skin Care Recipes

Filed under: skin care — admin @ 5:01 pm

Ever thought of experimenting with your own natural skin care recipes to combat that dry flaky skin?

You have to know that skin basically does everything alone. This means that it can produce enough oil from the sebaceous glands to make it shine and work together perfectly. The problems appear when it becomes dry.

Keeping this in mind there are several solutions you can apply using ingredients already found inside your home or at the local grocery shop.

Remember that what you eat is very important and bad diets or insufficient nutritional ingredients damage every part of the body. To be healthy and have perfect skin a balanced diet is the first factor that has to be taken into consideration. Perfect glowing skin can be achieved.

Have you heard of proteins? Well, they are very important for one’s skin regeneration and repair. Processed food rich in preservatives and salt will take moisture out of your skin. They can also cause the dreaded dry skin everybody is afraid of. Why not eat fish (salmon is the best), turkey, chicken or include in your diet vegetable protein? The all hated vegetables! They contain vegetal protein which is perfect for the body. Avoid frozen food! Vegetables are especially good if fresh.

Why not include in your natural skin care recipes ingredients such as garlic, onions or eggs? The contain Sulfur in a natural form and this substance is very important for the skin. Several multi-vitamins out there also contain sulfur and should be taken into account if your diet is lacking it.

Is your skin cracked? Have you considered being careful that your body receives enough vitamins A and B? Lacks of them cause this. Include in your diet food that contains these vitamins and eat carrots.

Beta-Carotene can be found in them and it’s good not only for your eyes. It plays a significant role in skin care as well.

What you also have to include in your diets number:

* Alpha-Hydroxy acids

* EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids)

* Lactic Acid

* Supplements

* Vitamin E

* Aloe Vera

Another important rule is: Avoid Junk Food! It is simply not good for you from all point of views.

Natural skin care recipes are available everywhere. Some work, some don’t! The best method of choosing one is to ask friends that use them. Also keep in mind that what works for somebody may not work on you! Don’t be discouraged and keep trying.

The best way to keep your skin perfect is by eating healthy and give your body every vitamin and mineral it needs. In most cases there is no need of expensive creams or lotions. A good moisturizer can replace them all if combined with a healthy way of eating.

Beauty Of Tanned Skin - What Is The Cost

Filed under: skin care — admin @ 11:02 am

Tanned skin is loved by most of the white skinned people. Who will say that he/she does not like tanned skin? What about the cost of getting tanned skin? I am not talking in term of dollars, but life. It is death due to skin cancer. There are many ideas about tanning that people believe and think that they are safe. Let us talk about them.

Many of us believe that use of tanning oils on skin and then getting tanned is safe. But that is not true. No tanning oil prevents the sun. If it had prevented sun, you would not have got tanned! Tanning skin is only due to the UV radiation and radiation damages and causes skin cancer.

A swim after tanning skin protects the skin. This is another belief of many people. Please note that no amount of swimming after getting tanned saves the skin. Once the skin gets tanned, it is damaged. Swimming without application of a sunscreen is very bad because water reflects more UV radiation. The radiation near the beach is more than on the ground away from beach.

Skin that is tanned is in danger. Protect your life by avoiding all types of tanning. Use tanning cosmetics to get artificial color if you want, but don’t damage your skin with tan. Tanning beds, sun lamps and sun all are bad for skin.
